The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as announced by palace sources.

The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday night at a reception ahead of the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

The King has been a long-time champion of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio before the COP summit.

Royal sources have characterized Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as taking on an important role in "global climate discussions".

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were welcomed attendees such as environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.
