Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
