Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Coast
A chopper soaring near a popular coastal coastline unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Videos uploaded on social media depict the helicopter beginning to twirl over the beach then descending near the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
